Sprout Field Testing

We built Sprout to be a simple, affordable way for anyone to start using solar. No roof crew, no electrician, no barriers. But how does it really perform once it’s out in the wild?

We decided to find out with a real world test.

Sprout’s sun exposure in the testing location.

We installed a 350W Sprout on the ground, tilted at about 30 degrees, facing south. It was plugged directly into a standard outdoor outlet using our included microinverter.

We tracked performance over months using a smart plug with energy monitoring, capturing daily output data through sunny days, thunderstorms, high winds, and a thorough coating of pollen.

What We Observed

Over the trial period in Atlanta, GA from mid February to mid May,

Sprout averaged 1.3kWh a day.

The panel continued producing even on cloudy days and during thunderstorms.

Daily Production

Daily production of the Sprout panel over 25 days.

Daily production of the Sprout panel from day 26 to day 50.

In a sunny climate like Tucson, AZ or Sacramento, CA, the panel can generate around 550 to 650 kWh per year. At an average electricity rate of $0.16 per kWh, that’s:

$88 to $104 per year in savings

In cooler, cloudier regions, output drops a bit. But even at 400 kWh per year, you’re still looking at $64 per year, with better savings as rates rise.

With a one-time cost of $575 (including shipping), that’s a simple payback in five to seven years — and clean energy for many more to come.

What’s really exciting is what this represents.

One Sprout won’t power your whole house, but it will show what’s possible. It helps offset your fridge, your laptop, your lights. It’s your first real step toward energy independence. And when thousands of people take that step, it adds up to something big.

Sprout works. Rain, shine, or snow. It’s proof that clean energy doesn’t have to be complicated or expensive. Whether you’re a homeowner, renter, or just solar curious, this is how you get started.

🌞 It’s clean energy in a box
🔌 Just plug it in

Let’s grow a cleaner future, one panel at a time.
